Acquisition Plan:
The Hardware Acquisition Plan will provide the customer
assurance that the correct hardware is deployed to meet
the business requirements. SDR will ensure that hardware
is selected from best of breed manufacturers that provide
value for money, high reliability, and good warranty
services.
SDR
will negotiate the purchase price on behalf of the customer
to ensure the best service and prices levels.
Hardware
Asset Management Plan:
The acquisition of new hardware is very closely
tied to the asset management plan. SDR will ensure that
all new hardware is properly labelled and inventoried
according to the organizations accounting requirements.
This includes tracking all equipment adds, moves, changes,
and removals. The SDR support services pricing model
is flexible and can accommodate unit pricing or fixed
price options. Regardless of the option chosen, SDRs
customers will assure that their billings and the value
provided will be understandable.
Software
Acquisition and License Tracking Plan:
The Software Acquisition and License Tracking
Plan will provide the customer assurance that the correct
software is deployed to meet the business requirements.
SDR will ensure that software is selected to meet the
business requirements, and that the software is compatible
with the customer's IT environment.
Software
licenses are tracked in a central location to ensure
compliance with the licensing agreements of the manufacturers.
The installation of software will be tracked for each
individual desktop to enable the redeployment of software
licenses where possible. The software license tracking
will enable the customer to easily cost future upgrades
and always benefit from reduced cost with license upgrades.
Approved
Hardware and Software List:
SDR will develop and maintain a current list of corporate
approved hardware and software. This list will be referenced
prior to acquiring new hardware or software to ensure
corporate standards are maintained. The standardization
on select hardware and software will enable the customer
to reduce support costs, improve productivity, and improve
service level. The Approved Hardware and Software List
will be updated periodically to reflect changes with
manufacturers and within the organization as Information
Technology requirements change.
